What's It All about

Classic Marvel Forever Chat RoomThe Classic Marvel Roleplaying Game is not about hard facts or real world conversion specifics; it is all about having fun. Here's what you need to get started... the MSH roleplaying game requires at least 2 players & the gamemaster (Judge), that describes the enviroment and controls everything within that world... everything except you, the player. You as a player have control of a character, you describe to the game master what your doing and he tells you how the world reacts. This may require a random percentile dice roll on a table. This "Universal Table" is the core of the game mechanics. It is the medium through which you transcend from our everyday mundane reality into the Marvel Super Heroes Roleplaying Game Universe.

So, excited yet!?

Try to get 3-4 players and a gamemaster (Judge) together and let your imagination free. This is an ideal number of people to make the game and gameworld come alive. OK now you need to understand the rules. Just like Newton, Relativity and Taxes, the Marvel Super Hero game has rules to play by; you'll need a copy of those, that's the hard part. The books were published from 1984 to 1992 and are no longer printed. That means you'll have to look very hard at your local gaming store, buy them from ebay or luckily for you, some folks have been kind enough to make them available for you to download on the internet and even better right here at ClassicMarvelForever.com (just search the Naviagation Menu for the Resources Tab, then click on Downloads and you'll find them).

So lets list what you can't do without:

  1. Advanced Players Handbook: An Excellent rule book containing information on creating characters and playing the game.
  2. Advanced Judges Handbook: The Remarkable guide to running a game and some Marvel characters to get you started.
  3. Ultimate Powers Book: A really Incredible big list of super powers for characters to choose from.
  4. Realms Of Magic: An Amazing book of spells describing Mystic Arts in the game.

Sure there are many other books that could be useful, modules, accessories and the like, but these are the ones you will definately need. Here at ClassicMarvelForever.com, we don't run online games or PBeM. If you would like to play via the internet in whatever form, I suggest you post on the messageboard for locations of current games. Someone may know and be able to help.
