You are correct. I find that when I have players who either have MSH as their first RPG or at were at one time more Runequest (BRP) system orienteted than AD&D or D20 OGL, they enjoy MSH pretty much as is.
However, I must congratulate myself for the the -1CS, -3CS, and -5CS Primary Modifier System (TM) that I came up with.
It doesn't screw things up at the upper levels of skill v.

YES!! They would. I have participated in the D&D game for 9 months and within that 6 to 7 hour session, half of the damn time is spent by players debating rules and what powers or maneuvers can accomplish what as they either flip through the pages of any one of a dozen or so rulebooks or punch up the info on their portable desktops.
I have discovered that the fact that if a game judge simp

So, my group and I got together earlier this evening and completed my mini-campaign. Suffice it to say the world is safe. . .although one hero got the chance to give his life and the drama was heavy.
However, prior to the game, one of the players had a suggestion regarding the Evade maneuver.
Compare Fighting v. Fighting just like the comparison of attack ability v. agility.

Agreed. They are playing to make me happy because they like me. When this scenario is completed (mostlikely next Saturday) They will return to the solitude to their WOtC Dungeons and Dragons books.
The fact is that I don't even own the Player's Handbook, but because the DM wants me to participate he lets me borrow his. Also, the four players who are placating me have invested HUNDRED

I just recently picked up the trade paperback for "52". The first 13 issues are contained in that edition.
Sci-Fi extreme. But, me like.
I can't wait for the next collection.
It is called "52" because each week, i.e., 52 in year , an issue was released for sale. I didn't have the time nor cash to keep track so I am collecting the series in TPB form.

The writting is great. The storytelling is terrific. The good guys win. . .but you can't predict how they are going to overcome.

It was 1984. I bought the yellow box at Forbidden Planet in NYC. I was so excited that I began reading the Battle Book on the long walk home from the East Village to Hell's Kitchen.
I had also picked up Breeder Bombs. I couldn't wait to read the X-Men stats.
It was like RPG sex. I was totally into it.

Ah, so last night I as the game judge have one of my mastermind's minions ( they prefer to be called minions in lieu of henchmen) evade the oncoming slugfest attack of one of the PC's characters. The PC had Incredible Fighting with a +1CS due to talent with his weapon. My minion had Good Figthing. When I matter-of-factly announced that my minion had a Good chance of avoiding being hit,

Since September of '06 I have been meeting once per month with a group of players for D&D. I am able to meet with them one Saturday per month. It's a great group that varies between 5 and 7 people plus the DM.
From the get-go I had told the players and DM that I was interested in running a superhero rpg based upon the classic MSH game from the late '80's early 90'

They were pleasant and professional. They were generous to the audience who got to ask questions. I couldn't think of anything to ask about. . .I toyed with asking if they would have a Marvel Crisis, but, they kind of answered that when they began to describe what's up coming in the House Of M storyline. Something about wish fulfillment. I had to leave before the conference ended.

Expect more crossovers (surprise).
Peter David stated that although he and other writers hear a percentage of fans vent their frustration regarding the direction that Marvel went with the CW crossovers, at the end of the day Marvel Comics is a corporation that looks at the bottom line on the profit sheet.

Initiative can be as intricate or as simple as you want it to be.
The Godfather of RPGs, Gary Gygax, had a very complex yet comprehensive initiative system set up for AD&D. Did anyone follow it? No. Why not? Well, my personal opinion is that the Dungeon Masters were either too lazy to adhere to the rules, or just simply didn't want to invest the time to learn and apply those rules.

I went after the Rise of the Silver Surfer. I would have wrote "the Rise of the SS" however, it would have sounded like a program on the History Channel.
Did anyone else attend?
I sat in on a roundtable with Peter David, Matt Fraction, Jeff Parker, and Daniel Way.
The idea was to talk about what's coming this summer from Marvel.

In response to David Martin: Agreed. Remember the movie Time Bandits? It was hilarious when the giant stepped up out of the sea with the ogre's ship sitting on top of his head. People would have guffawed at a purple suited attentaed giant bi-ped humanoid setting up his machine atop Trump Tower.

Bull'seye F&S. My lament is that people who never nor never will read the comics will walk away with false knowledge that Surfer must have his board to be the personification of the Power Cosmic.

I have not read any other posts. I will after I write my down my thoughts.
Firstly, my perspective prior to seeing his movie was this: The Marvel Movie Universe is an alternate reality, diverging from 616 and Ultimate.
I liked the first FF movie. So I think you know where this review is leading...

If the FF 2 movie is acceptible, I am going to be at the Charlotte,NC Heroes Convention. Quesada will most likely be there, or at least some Marvel Comics mover and shaker. I will present the argumentthat what Marvel needs to apologize for CW is a Crisis of Infinite Earths. Lots of money baby!!!
