Here is your opportunity to have your say about current character stats and also to post any you devise. Basically you'll help everyone out..
This forum is currently read only. You can not log in or make any changes. This is a temporary situation.
Not really. You have to track a variety of things, including work out what the costs are for increasing a power or other ability which requires multiplication and addition. Not like you have to break out pencil and paper to divide your power rank of Regeneration into the number of hours or minutes in a day to determine how much faster you get your health back. Just put it into any handy calcul

Don't let the game mechanics completely derail you on the benefits of the power. In most situations it allows for representing someone who can still take damage at lower levels yet survive heavy hammering attacks. You can't represent someone who'd take a heavy attack without heavy protection to survive it and yet have him take damage from low-level attacks at the same time. With

I make use of the Ultimate Powers Book interpretation, namely divide 24hrs (or 1440 minutes if the rank number is higher than 24) by the power rank number to determine what the new rate is at which you recover that Endurance rank. If the numbers are friendly enough I'll convert it to x# of health/ y# of turns format. There isn't any requirement for total rest either, since your body

That's the correct interpretation on TI and what causes so many to flame over it. They feel the shifts of reducing damage like a Shift-Z attack so much is unbalancing. Unfortunately they miss just how much it reflects certain kinds of damage-ignoring characters and few creatures should have very high ranks in TI in any case. The Hulk btw really doesn't have TI, not as written in the

The Hulk doesn't have TI, he's got Body Resistance, or if you go by some of the older write-ups Armor Skin or Body Armor depending on the label that you wanted to give it. I really don't know why they gave him TI in the forums other than it sounds neater to say 'TRUE INVULNERABILITY' instead of 'body resistance'. I don't really care for the shift to givin

Nothing of the math wiz about me, if there were I'd have completed my bachelor's degree in Engineering and be making $100k a year by now instead of being unemployed and wishing that I had work. Hating the math doesn't make it math-heavy either and the math required to work out what benefits Regeneration applies is math you need to get by in the world, since you have to use math ev

I'd seriously love to play through the Cosmic Trilogy, I'd be hard-pressed to pick a character though. Starfox is the most logical choice but Frostfire is pretty much cosmic class given her elder demon status, and Gadget's got the magical might and knowledge even if she's obsessed with technology. Ah well, worry about that if and when someone decides they'd like to run

Thanks, and well if basic math skills have degraded to the point they can't handle simple division and fractions (especially with the calculator that comes as part of the Microsoft) they need to go back to school and join some primary schoolers for a refresher. I like the game for its simpler rules in part but really that's going from simplifying to lazy when it's generally a one

Not so nutty, especially if you read Knights Of The Dinner Table. Their GM decided he wanted to run some space-based campaigns and take a break from their long-running Hackmaster fantasy game, and so they were set up with a nice ship, into which the group's Rules Lawyer set about using his uber-computer skills to program a simulation using the Holodeck of their hackmaster game to play WITHI

The only downside of course is having to go back to normal once everything's all said and done after battling at the level where you even chat with Eternity for short bit. Plus some characters given the rules involved would end up with all powers at Shift-X and nothing below Monstrous for FASE which most aren't used to. Would be fun though getting to run Starfox through that module se

Glad to help out, although I think I saw someone talk about a field of Potential Energy, which I have to say is nonsense. Everything has potential energy relative to something else (same with kinetic energy) but it doesn't really mean anything. Neither is a tangible energy in the power sense where one could create a field of it. Kinetic energy only has some powers specialized for it becaus

Be honest, people have gone flame-postal over their dislike of the official interpretation of TI. He'll see that in any thread where he goes looking for clarification anyway (including in Starfox's thread where I initially explained it to you) but we have the benefit that almost everyone who's felt like flaming about it are burnt out or gone so it shouldn't recur amongst thos

for the thread I started as a more comprehensive and clarified write-up on Body Resistance and True Invulnerability. Don't mind the flames some people just can't help themselves when it comes to True Invulnerability and CS damage reduction.
As far as Regeneration goes some seem to get a godawfully fast interpretation of how rapidly one recovers from damage (Most evident with Wolver

Most asgardian gods were warriors, doesn't mean he has to be god of war, already had someone for that job.

Pre-Crisis Superman, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen seemed to be getting married (if you believed the covers) practically every other issue of those extra superman-related titles. Lana Lang as well. They seemed to work overtime finding ways of writing up teaser stories like that. Post-Crisis they've done up a variety of Elseworlds and Marvel style What-ifs (like the Armageddon storyline) hook

Actually Thor is the God of Lightning and the Storm and NOT war, that'd be Tyr if memory serves. However he spent his time growing up fighting giants even before getting Mjolnir and many of them are a decent challenge for him, especially as he often targets the most powerful to hunt.

Several. Kingdom Come their child grows up with cosmic power and joins the Quintessence, in another Elseworlds all super-beings were stripped of their powers and after Lois left him he ended up with Wonder Woman and had a child who was shown as a baby at the end supposedly heralding the next stage of evolution with powers vaster than those humanity had already seen from the likes of them.

I remember Thunderstrike using the Mace Odin gave him and the Executioner's Axe created by the Enchantress (or at least presumeably created by her) at one time and getting high off the combined power, but I don't remember anyone getting to benefit from having two authentic Mjolnir's at the same time.

Well while the extra physical power would certainly make him formidable the Juggernaut's been stopped before. All it would really mean is in straightforward physical combat they'd lose. However given that Doom is more of a cerebral opponent rather than physical (he could have easily set himself up with permanent physical powers by now) he'd probably fail to use the powers as much

It seems to depend on the powers, some end up warped or inactive (obviously or Wolverine wouldn't be able to be converted, as it shuts down his healing factor) others work fairly well still. Quicksilver obviously retained all of his powers as he dashed around infecting everyone he could find.

I do wonder about how you could infect Thor in the first place, but then again somehow they show Juggernaut being infected so the setting is clearly not making much use of plausibility so infecting Thor and having it somehow make him unworthy of his hammer is as likely as anything else (especially when you consider the one What-if they recently presented with Thor as a Herald of Galactus and stil

*chuckles* But I need that for my first set of improvements in order to prop up my Force Field and get a few extra talents to compliment my FASERIP and shore up some of the holes. Ahhhh the challenges of a new game and deciding what route to take in the improvement of one's character to better both it and benefit the group as a whole.

I think Stark needs to learn that there's a big difference between a guy in a metal suit and just about anyone with advanced powers. I think he went and subjected himself to Extremis because he was tired of being a powerless human who relied upon a suit packed with technology and wanted to have some inherent powers of his own but being who he is went with something like that instead of powe

I'd hate to see something like that happen, especially if it's just a problem with the interface and fixing some protocols.

Sentry was more of a danger to everyone than the Hulk ever was. All the Hulk has going for him is superstrength and durability but the Sentry can unleash massive energy blasts capable of destroying vast areas with ease. Also the Hulk you often see, especially during WWH, demonstrating FEAR of his destructive potential, but we see Sentry loving it once he got to cut loose.

Unfortunately those kinds of What-ifs? are few and far between and most sadly have to deal with realities where men lacking in honor or having principles that gives like silly putty end up making the choices that everyone else end up suffering from.
I think if Thor had been around during the Civil War and Asgard still an independent realm in another dimension he would have opposed it and given
