Here is your opportunity to have your say about current character stats and also to post any you devise. Basically you'll help everyone out..

Here's a particularly evil one; What-If Hybrid had defeated Rom and successfully used Mystique, Rogue, and Destiny as breeding stock for a new race serving him?

Actually the Thing's fighting stat DOES drop when you take away his powers (just check his alter-ego and compare to his Thing form, something like a 3CS drop). The Hulk though doesn't fight like Banner does; as a true example of Multiple Personality Disorder he has his own Fighting attribute and style independent of Banner (much like RL versions can have totally different allergies and

This website is just fine HotIce; don't take the word of a few disgruntled members and look it over in depth and decide for yourself how much it suits your needs. I feel that you'll be richly rewarded from the years of debates and contributions that have accumulated here at Classic Marvel and still go on to this day.

Weird, Classic Marvel's been quite cooperative lately, although could just be I'm picking the right times of the day to log on, haven't even had a crash in days while trying to post (although probably going to jinx myself saying that). Again though for all the people complaining I haven't read where any of those complaining the most have even tried to find someone to offer up

Haven't really played the villain, although I suppose if I wanted to I'd play one with great publicity like Iron Man or Reed Richards or Hank Pym.

Why should his Strength and Endurance go up? Makes as much sense as anything else when we're talking comics. His mind undergoes some kind of neural enhancement that improves his fighting along with his strength.

I doubt Galactus would end up in conflict with the Celestials over something like that, either because as a celestial being whose purpose is to consume worlds they'd defer to him even if it cost them an experiment or he'd simply avoid a world they were in the middle of judging.
The Destroyer's a special case, as it's powers include powers similar to a herald (like Life Dete

Which was interesting as he kept using weapons and armor long after he'd recovered all his lost power and then some and no longer needed a weapon or the armor. Also learned some military tactics and Leadership.

At least until the fifth Host, and we've no idea how many tests go by before they leave you alone. They did though judge against Earth due to the High Evolutionary's success in the what-if for the Evolutionary Wars (although by the time that they noticed normal humanity had evolved to the point they were able to rival Eternity in power and easily destroyed Arishem which sent the other

Well Cyclops had the benefit that the room's designed to beat everyone (and after the retcon to make the room Sentient it was probably quite happy to help him smack the others down, and probably explained why it broke down so much).

That was pretty funny, since you see the Celestials as these aloof entities against which none of their experiments or nearly any entity below the Big Four (Death, Eternity, Oblivion, and Infinity) could stand. Then *BOOM* up pops the Beyonder to smack them around and give them a bit of a humbling 'there's always someone bigger' lesson that they could use. Although since we don

I doubt he could considering Juggernaut's a mystically-endowed entity. Since Galactus isn't a magically-oriented entity I doubt he could empower Juggernaut with the Power Cosmic as his herald (Morg's augmentation after gaining the PC was by a supposedly mystical pool and the having of the PC doesn't inherently prevent you being affected by outside sources otherwise Doom would

Ahhh but I'm not the one currently touring the DR though, and Perceptor's more of a 'look at my contributions to science' kind of guy. ;)

*blinks* Since when are any of those enough to affect the Celestials? When the Eternals attempted to challenge the Celestials one shot to kill Zuras and the Uni-Mind was toast, the Asgardian's couldn't win or even prove more than a minor inconvenience when animating the Destroyer (and all the earth's pantheons were given a clear warning to stay out of the way or have all their di

That WAS pretty impressive, although the DR did delay it long enough for her to get to the Blackbird and use its jets to kill it. A feat that you know had to impress everyone, especially Wolverine, and coincidentally enough Pirate Kitty's version of the Blackbird, the giant dragon, had a reference to a similar event in that parallel reality.

The Starbrand could easily drive off the Celestials (The Living Tribunal was reluctant to battle its possessor and considering he exceeds Eternity in power the Starbrand would easily match the Celestials). Uatu wouldn't try and drive them off and doesn't have the power to (he couldn't handle Galactus after all) even if he did try, and yes Owen's power levels have been screwed

I tolerate house rules inside a game I'm in, but outside of a game we're all equals and free to disagree with each other without it qualifying as an attack or putdown. Any appearances of that nature aren't intentional (might be some lingering effects from the flames at the beginning of the year, might not), I just tend to be fairly frank and somewhat blunt at times as a byproduct

The limited series where Kitty Pryde thought she's emulate the Well of Worlds only to have the residual energies in Nightcrawler call the actual well there and draw him into the world that matched up with the one from her Fairy Tale she told to Illyanna along with some others I think.

I can't see how per turn healing can't be seen as too fast, when an average human is per day, or 14,400 turns to regain an Endurance rank's worth of health. It also worries me when so many seem to have such a rejection of math to work so hard to avoid even the limited math required with the UPB listing for regeneration. So-called time-saving steps aren't always a benefit, an

Believe me Wolverine's been shown getting burned to ash so he's definitely got Regeneration. Per turn health recovery is really just too fast, if you insist on a rate that doesn't require a few bits of multiplication and division then go per hour which'd still be dozens of times faster than a normal human.
by Nightmask
- Let's Talk Stats
That's just way too fast; it's like getting cheap Body Resistance on top of Regeneration and while I certainly love the power rates like that encourage 'rush the machineguns' thinking like Wolverine's turned into. It's been so bad with him they even had to finally give him a backstory and release it using the House of M in order to distract from how simplistic he

*chuckles and nods* Well Nixia and Hercules having kids is well off in the future, although I'm trying to remember if the what-if where every man on earth was killed off by a space plague and Superman donated the material to help fertilize the remaining superhumans (strangely enough I don't believe ANY normal human women got that lucky outside of Lois Lane and she got it the natural wa

I'd have to browse through the books but that's definitely in the main books and not a house rule. Things in the CL1000+ range are generally considered cosmic-class and just too powerful to downshift except in rare cases (one of the reason for certain disagreements like my questioning Black Bolt's power being CL1000 level or could Superman survive it even though the rank number is

I don't think I've seen anything in the UPB that refers to Reality Manipulation as being just an illusion. Now some of the write-ups for characters with it have in fact done so but they're in error (most notably with regards to The Shaper of Worlds and other Cosmic Cube beings). Reality Alteration/Present is the only one close to being treated as an illusion only because it creat

It'd be a house rule as neither published version of Regeneration is close to being that fast (although the Player's book is in the ballpark). The (Rank/10) per turn is so fast what's the point of health in the first place? I mean you want to be invulnerable to harm and never lose health and for the complaints about unbalancing regarding TI and it making fights 'drag on fore

Well there's nothing that says you have to use a power exactly as written in any of the books; while those are presented as default interpretations many are left fairly open-ended (like we've seen from the recent discussions on Body Coating and Shapeshifting in the UPB ). It's just appropriate to accept that those are how they're officially presented to use as a foundation ev

Doesn't matter how you arrange the operators, the end result and desire is the same: namely determining how much more rapidly you can recover your lost health. Some just seem afraid of the math even when it's laid out as simply as possible when for the life of me I really can't understand it. Calculus is scary math, advanced trigonometry is scary, not basic division and multiplic
