MIC, have you tried the house rules on this site for advancement? I like them, but that may be because our sessions are rare and far between (damn!), so my players need every chance of advancement they can get.
Good to hear that you like the system as well. I'm definitely buying it in a few hours.

Thanks for the details, Doctor!
Sounds great! I'll get a copy this afternoon and see if I should morph my campaign into this. Powers and damage system sound very promising!

Sorry if I sounded like a snottish know-it-all, YHS. I guess I let my dislike of IQ testing rub off on my answer. Of course you know the perils of using IQ as a measure of intelligence. Almost everybody does.
I prefer to see Reason as the ability to make connections, think abstractly and cathegorize. In my campaign it's not directly realated to technology at all. Noone uses Reason for tin

Well, for starters you need to approach tinkering with a bit of common sense. Having a high Reason won't be of any use in itself, if you lack the applicable talents. You just can't invent stuff without training in science or engineering -- you'd have no idea of where to begin, no matter how clever you were.
In gaming terms I allow the attempts, but I apply a hefty penalty.

Doctor, M & M looks really interesting!
Are you playing that as well? Do you recommend it?
Could you please give us a few strong and weak points in it, compared to our beloved MHRPG? I'd like to know if it's worth trying out.

You're right there! One of the reasons Spiderman and the X-men movies were good was because they were obviously made by people who liked the source material, not by people who though it was stupid stuff for dumb kids.

God, no!
This just keeps getting worse!
The worst thing about these lame adaptions, "The League", "From Hell", etc, is that I might even have liked the ideas if they weren't horrid carricatures of comics I really, really like.
I mean, a psychic cop looking for Jack the Ripper with a Hollywood prostitute isn't too bad an idea for a piece of fluff, right? But does

X-statix is actually a lot of fun, Warlock. Try out a few issues and see if you like it. The name U-Go Girl isn't cheesy by accident.
It's by Peter Milligan for Christ's sake! Just read it!
And, hey, I LIKE You Da' Man Man!

What am I missing? An episode of Friends? A brain? A ticket to Bizarro Earth?
I smell a cultural gap here. Enlighten me!
Oh, and by the way, I rather liked this one:

Oh, and to be really explicit: it's an RPG alright, but in the old sense, i.e. you need pens, paper, dice and a whole lot of friends to play it.
No computers involved.
Sorry, if that was obvious, but I've seen a lot of people lately who have made that mistake.

And vacation's coming up! Yay!
That means I can take a whole day and fix it then.
Oh, and Fangs... Sorry about the earlier optimism... I was getting carried away.

I think it's very difficult to make guns make any sense at all within the MSRPG system, no matter what rules you use. The damage system is designed for super hero comic book violence, where you bash at each other to cause a knock out. It really doesn't work for guns and other deadly damage, since these have no real place in super hero comic book fights.
The point of the damage system i

How can this be legal? I can see Jamaica not caring. But how can it be okay in the U.S. to grab people, restrain them, and send them out of the country against their will, and without parent supervision?
Shouldn't this be reason to lose custody of your children?
When will people realize that "What doesn't kill you make you stronger" is a really shitty idiom? What doesn&

Sorry about the delay, but a lot has gotten in the way -- that's why I haven't been here that much either (not that anyone probably noticed...).
It's still in the works though.
A special "sorry" to Fangs, who probably thought I would be finished weeks ago, mainly because I promised him I would be.
I'm not finished. But I will be. Soon.

Fangs: The point of Holyman's way of doing it, is that you subtract the Agility rating number from the attackers attack roll. The attacker doesn't suffer rank penalties, but actual minuses to the dice roll.
So the basic idea is that you get a minus 50 (Amazing agility) at your roll to hit Spider-Man. Your to hit-rank is unaffected though.
The dodge roll determines if you use the dodgi

What's up with Thor in this book. Amazing Strength? That seems a little off...
Was he temporarily depowered at the time or what?
Kythri, I already had an altar raised in your honor in my cell. Now I guess I'll have to adorn it with all the photos I took stalking you.
It's great that your giving proper webspace to this.

But I am on it. Just give me a few weeks. Try to hold out!

Possible cause for Grubb's choice on Charging:
Endurance is the logical stat to use for charging damage. The only alternative would be Strength. However, Endurance is used for running speed, and it's the only stat that can be seen as having any relation to the character's weight and durability (Strength isn't useful at all for this in a super hero RPFG).
So let's see wh

Well, at least running fast has something to do with charging into stuff. Taking damage and physical condition has nothing to do with it.
Quotewhen it comes to picking one it makes more sense for the big sturdy guys to be better Chargers than the Black Belts, Gymnasts and Sharpshooters.
I think this is where we disagree. The martial artists and gymnast do have a better chance of running into som

"Not seem right" seem like a pretty good reason to me.
But Warlock, you obviously have the default on your side, since you're just sticking with the rules as written.
It has just always seemed weird to me. I think my problem basically comes from the connection between physical resiliance and running speed. The rules as written don't allow for slow but durable heroes. To top

Well, Wallace, that's your loss. I can suspend almost any belief if I think it makes for a fun story. Heck, I can even accept Star Wars physics!

Warlock, no I don't see anything wrong with that picture. Are you really saying that Nightcrawler wouldn't have better aim running into stuff than Rhino?
The reason Rhino charges and Nightcrawler doesn't, is that Rhino is strong and sturdy and can generally inflict more damage than he recieves. Rhino runs through walls. Nightcrawler would just flatten himself.
Besides, Rhino miss
