Greetings and Salutations All,

This is Your Humble Servant,

I am starting up another online game and am needing 6 more players.

Here are the basic Character Creation Rules..

Rules for creating your own character:
Year is 2028

All characters will be "Legacies" I.E. characters will have a tie-in with a previous established Marvel Hero or Villian. This hero or Villian need not be currently active/alive. All characters must be from "this" reality I.E. Earth 724.

Origin: No modifications are gained by taking an Origin, though all must take one. No Dieties.

We will be using Character Points (CP) to create characters.
Initial CP points: 400

Stats (FASERIP) -
1 point per point of rank. All stats/powers must be at full rank. I.E. Ty-6, Gd-10, Ect...

Resources 1/2 point per point
GD(10) Resources cost 5 points

Popularity cost 2pts per point of Pop
Gd(10) Pop would cost 20CPs

You can not take Popularity lower then -20. Note negative Pop may cause you and the group problems.

Buying Powers:

Powers come from Players Book, UPB, and Classic Marvel Ultimate Powers List

Defensive: 5 points + 1point/point of rank

Sensory Powers (not Cosmic Awareness): 5 points + 1point/point rank

1 slot power: 10 + 1point/point rank

2 slot power: 20 + 2point/1 point rank

Power stunts: half the cost to buy it as a power..
must explain how it fits into power

Invulnerablities: 120, if Power Stunt: 60.

The following powers will be considered 2 slot powers, even though they are marked as 1 in the books.

Plasma Generation

Weapons Tinkering

Selection

Residual Absorption

Mimicry Powers(Animal Mimicry, Plant Mimicry, Chemical Mimicry)

Chemical Touch

Emotion Control

Telereformation

Body Transformation-Others

Power Simulation (Magickal power)



Powers not allowed:

Troubleseeker

Precognition

Death Field

Cosmic Perception

Time Travel

Super Flight

Any Power the GM determines might be unballancing.
Note: Animal Transformation from the UPB simply gives you the ability to look
like any animal, does not give you the animal's abilities.
You will need to take Animal Mimicry for this.

Animal Transformtiion from the Players Handbook grants you abilities of the
animals, but you lose all other Powers.




Talents:

Weapon/Fighting/Mental& Mystisim: 10 points, all else 5 points.

2 slot talents cost twice as much as they would if they where single talents.

You don't get bonus or penalities from Origin.

Contacts: All must be approved by GM
5 (minor):Example:Willie Lumpkin / Your Family(Middle Class)
10(moderate):Example:Local Sherrif / A NPC Super-Being (Minor Abilities)
20(major):Example:Nick Fury / Fantastic Four



Weakness (UPB) give you 50 points

Power limitations
(must be approved by the GM)
10 points for 1 slot power
Example:
Example:Telekinesis:Can only effect innorganic matter. -10pts
20 for 2 slot power.
Example:Gateway:Cost 10 HP per Use.-20pts

Points are taken from cost of power limited
Example:Telekinesis:Only effects Innorganic matter:RM
Normal cost:RM(30)+10pts=40pts
Limited Cost:Rm(30)+10pts-10pts=30pts

Minimum Cost of Power
1 Slotter 10 points
2 Slotter 20 points


Stat limitations: 10 points per Limit
(limitation put on your FASERIP - again, must be approved by GM)
Example
Bad Hearing:(Intuition Limit)-2cs to hearing Intuition Feats
Bad Heart:(End Limit):Must make End feat vs Stun any time a
physical/power Red feat is done. If End Feat roll is White, must
make a roll on the Kill chart.

History
Players will be awarded either 10, 20, or 50 extra CPs for the creation of a
history for their character.
The better it is, the more CPs awarded.
These CPs can be used in the process of building the character.

Unspent CP can be converted to Karma. 1 cp = 10 Karma

*side note: 10 Karma points: guaranteed success Endurance roll to keep from dying

Aunt May suvived the attack by KingPins assassin..Unfortunately (For him) KingPIn forgot that Doc Oc was at one time in love with May so he got "taken care" of

Additional points for character creation can be gained by providing pictures of your character. This can be done any way you choose. Points will be determined by GM.

Hmmm, so just how are you handling the powers of Electromagnetic Energy Generation and Control, also when you refer to banning Cosmic Perception are you dismissing Cosmic Awareness as well?

Given the talents description are you then charging 40 CP for a starred talent like Weapon Specialist or Weapons Master?

Combat/Weapon/Mystic Talents are 10 points base. an asteric/2 slot power costs 20pts not 40pts.

The power of Cosmic Awareness woul possibly be allowed depending on the character..Just remember it does state that the power can drive you mad.

As to the Electromagnetic Generation and control I would rather someone take Magnetic Manipulation and then stunt the other energies. I am running a mid range game not a high-powered game.

Well there's a bit of confusion since the qualifier after the list of basic costs for talents says 2 slot talents cost twice a single slot talent without stating it excludes talents already costing 10 CP.

Oh I quite well know the limitations of Cosmic Awareness, it's not the uber-power some like to consider it, but still doing quite well so far at the start of Rook's game with it. Even Monstrous rank it fails a fair amount of time even at Green and Yellow and Red feats eat up a lot of karma.

Not quite sure why Electromagnetic Energy Generation or Control are inherently part of a high-level campaign. Still require power stunts to access things in general and the ranks have a good part of the say in what's high-level, and what's the foundation of having them as power stunts off of Magnetic manipulation? Even Magneto has his ability to manipulate other energies as a separate power, it's not a power stunt. I would have simply thought the individual powers would have qualified as 2-slot powers for purchase given their flexibility.

I am not saying that the 2 slot powers are excluded from the 2x cost in weapon/combat/mystic talents. You asked if Weapons Master or Weapon Specialist would cost 40 points each and according to what I posted initially and my reply to your initial question they cost 20 points each instead of the standard 10 for a combat/weapon talent since they are 2 slot powers. Where is the confusion?

Now as to the Electromagnetic Manipulation..I consider it a High level power..And as it is listed as a Cosmic Power so I would rather not have it for an initial PC. I would allow however for somone to have Magnetic Manipulation and then use stunts to branch out to sud energies that compose the electro-magnetic energy spectrum. This would limit the versatility and power as each would have to either be bought initially as a seperate stunt, which would eat up points quickly and therefore limit ranks and abilities, or have to be earned in game and would there-fore take time and experience to "earn" them And while Magneto does actually have them listed as seperate powers I, and several GMs I know, allow related powers to be bought/earned as stunts. Make sense to you now?

Ahhh, my bad. On rare occasion when I eyeball something I end up inadvertently doing something twice so I doubled it and doubled it again. So I did the math automatically to get 20 then doubled it to 40.

Not quite since the starting character could just start limited to one energy at start and power stunt from there but if that's how you handle it okay. Always good to know the variations of the rules in play.

Depends on how many points you want to pump into your stats..You want to have a Un(100) Str you are only going to have 300 points for your remaining stats/powers/talents/contacts/Ect.. And you will be viewed as a "Real" threat by enemies when you eventually get some, so they will be more likely to break out the "Big Guns" against you. Now I would prefer people keep the maximums around In-Am...But I will work with people.

Yes..With a Gd Fighting, Rm Agility, and Gd Str and both MA C and Acrobatics you would have
Grapple (Including damage) Ex
Escape: Rm
Doddge Am
Evade: Ex

What about the bonus powers that come with plasticity? Elongation and power rank resistance to blunt attacks. How do you count them? Also, what about Quirks?

In a point based game bonus powers cost as per stunts ...Since they are powers affiliated with a power...They arenot normally free since it states that they are just powers that are put into the next available slot when you are rolling up a character. I dont use the quirks and such. However I do use limitations a lot to customize powers and abilities.

Ok. How about powers with out ranks? I am thinking of Probability Manipulation (Good Luck). How much would that cost and how would it work? I have an interesting limitation that I want, I only want the power to effect rolls concerning on stat, and that stat only. The power would only come into play when using that stat.

So with Acrobatics & Martial Arts C, I would get a +2cs to my Agility when dodging. Cool. Now if I take Acrobatics, Martial Arts C, & Dodging, would I get a +3cs to my Agility when dodging?

So what's the status of Thor then? Is Asgard alive and well or did the 'final end' come at his hands and rebirth free of the nature of Ragnarok as is now being written with the new run of Thor? Also what kind of costs are there for equipment or unique weapons or items?
