Here is your opportunity to have your say about current character stats and also to post any you devise. Basically you'll help everyone out..
This forum is currently read only. You can not log in or make any changes. This is a temporary situation.
Very cool. That is what I was getting at a few posts above. The idea that the field reduces the momentum of the incoming attack to reduce the force. I'm not trying to choose one power over the other really, just wanted to see what you guys would choose in that situation. Thanks for sharing man.

I'd like to say two things.....
1- Are we talking about the base Fighting rank before Talents are applied? Meaning that if you think Thor should have Unearthly Fighting based on his upbringing then with Talents included his Fighting would be Shift-X with swords, and Shift-Y with Mjolnir. Thor is from a warrior culture, I mean hell, he probably has carrying a sword by the time he was 10

The best thing to do with True Invulnerability is to read through it and try to figure it out on your own and for your own game. Because around here everyone is faithful to their view points and equally sure that they are correct. Once you have your own opinion you can jump into the boards here with it and have plenty of people to both agree and disagree with. For some reason that power in par

It was in July of 1990. Attached in the cover for the first comic in the story arc.
Hey, also this website: has an awesome amount of data on comics, and characters. Check it out man.
Special thanks to Punstarr for getting me addicted to it.
I've even got a profile over there. It's like MySpace for comic freaks. Dang....I could have just done this I guess:

Yeah, I remember that. Not the greatest writing in the history of comics, but still fun.
One of my all time favorite story arcs was the Black Galaxy Saga. Were you a Thor reader at that time?

Agree with that. But, are we talking about his fighting before talents or after?
Because he gets a +2CS with his hammer, so even if he had Amazing Fighting he would be at Unearthly with Mjolnir.

Well it is a problem to be sure. He'd probably be more than the Fantastic Four could handle anymore. With his technology, magic and the Crimson Gem...dang.

While I haven't read the Marvel Zombies series yet, I love the sound of this ending.
When these super humans become zombies do they still have access to their powers?

Easy now. If we give The Rook too much credit he'll want a cut of the Karma, and that simply will not do.

...for the one known as The Rook. This game is off to an Excellent (20) start right out of the gate.
If only we could give Karma to the Judge when he does well. But alas, we cannot. So I'm dividing 100,000 Karma points, originally set aside for The Rook, between my fellow players and I. Better luck next time. (:!D

Yeah man, I hear you. That issue where Thor tells Iron Man to stick was great. It really was time for Tony Stark to learn the difference between a God......
......and a man in a metal suit. That lesson was probably not really learned though. But at least for as long as it took him to walk home. ;-)
The Sentry is a real issue man, and one that I think Thor may come around to some time so

Sorry guys, I had a moment there.
Truth is that I really do wish Thor had been around for the Civil War and World War Hulk. I'd loved to have seen Stark try to send the Sentry out to handle Thor.
I'm laughing again.
All that power of a million exploding suns nonsense means little to someone who wields Mjolnir. The hammer can absorb energy on a level that I'm sure is grea

That is funny. I've always had slow load times on this forum. Can't say I've noticed it being any worse since the website was upgraded. Sometimes the forum loads right away and sometimes it take so long that the connection gets dropped. That just happened before I loaded this page. But, all in all I can't say I know what all the trouble is for the other members. It seems

Good points all around.
I'm a fan of the idea that characters like Thor will stand up for what the rights of each party are. He would have been angry with those who banished Hulk, but I'm definitely not saying he would have allowed any nonsense to take place.
Sort of what you said about Rogers, in the way that he would find a win-win situation. With Thor I feel similarly. Som

Yeah I do think it is a bit restricting to have something like Telepathy be limited to being used with the Body Coating too. In a case like that it would actually make more sense if it didn't work when you were using the Body Coating. You could at least argue that it interferes with the mental powers or whatever. The few times that I have used this powers it has always been a variation of

Exactly. I'm a big believer in that there are elements in the creation element of the game that are left vague on purpose. I'm just offering up a couple of different way to interpret the material at hand. I have a few others as well, but I think Daelon already had a direction he was going so I went with that.
Same with what we (you and I) talked (typed) about the other day with

No dude, what I'm saying is that all the other powers do not work unless the Body Coating is active. At least that is how I interpret it. But, of course there is always the customization of any power to make it work as desired for Judge and Player.
by The Last Duskblade

No problem. Yeah, dude that is the thing with this power that is kinda weak. Unless you have the ability to barter with your Judge to remove the limitation.
Although I suppose if you use it to hide your civilian identity it could be cool.

Earlier in this conversation someone mentioned that the Force might be considered magical in Marvel terms. If that is the case, then Superman might be screwed. Just think of a vastly powerful Force style wizard like Yoda tearing him apart by using one of his weaknesses against him.
I'm of the opinion that it is not magical, but it does raise and eyebrow. I've always though of the

Agreed. That is why I said, "There were so many things that he was pissed about that in order for him to be Pro-Registration, it would have to be a different policy. Kind of like What If? the SRA didn't suck...lol." Rogers is not going to be involved in anything that steals away peoples freedom. In order for him to be involved it would have had to have an entirely different purp

Daelon,
Okay brother, I'll take a swing at this. This is my opinion and interpretation of a power that is not perfectly defined.
Body Coating is sort of the matter version of Energy Sheath. One covers you with a protective energy and the other covers you with a protective matter. I mention this more so you know my perspective of the material, then to get anyone to agree with me. Yo

Both of those are great.
Many lives would have been saved if Captain America was Pro-Registration. But some freedoms would have been lost in the process. There would still have been a Negative Zone prison I think, just no heros as guest there. The whole thing would have gone so much smoother. But there would have had to been changes to the policy to even get Rogers to go along with it. Th

Since kinetic energy is the energy of motion and defined as such in the Ultimate Powers Book. What if the sheath only worked to defend when the character in question is moving. Or if the sheath had a direct effect on the motion of an incoming attack. Yeah, that sounds even better. Seems like there is something that can be done with it. Seeing how you can form a Kinetic Bolt, or alter the int

I'm leaving out the Power Stunt elements for this conversation because they are so clear from the beginning. But there are other things to consider. Like how kinetic energy can be used in a sheathing fashion. Let me know if you come up with something cool. I'm in total agreement that it is odd. That is why I thought I would throw it out to y'all. Making a character randomly, I rolled Force Field and Energy Sheath as two of my Powers. Looking over the Energy Sheath I realized that I have never made a character with an Energy Sheath that had a kinetic energy theme. I'm wondering what everyone here thinks the properties of an Energy Sheath based on kinetic energy would be. Based on what I read in the Ultimate Powers Book, it seems to

Actually I just checked the Comic Vine link I posted and it is not the same as it used to be. The tier levels used to go all the way down to street level characters. Perhaps they are editing it right now.
