Wolverine beating Lobo was alright? Hang on, this is Lobo we're talking about. Lobo. The biggest badass in the universe, without hyperbole. He can take on Superman. Wolverine shouldn't have lasted four panels.

That reminds me. I read Marvels for the first time recently, and it showed New York getting hit by a massive tidal wave that Namor had set off with Atlantean machinery and some handy whales.
Not just for his personal abilities, but for the power he wields as ruler of Atlantis, Namor would be a terror.

Another ability he hardly ever uses is to use large amounts of water to bulk up and become truly gigantic.

Cyclops has Martial Arts A and D, remember? That would be enough to slam Colossus even without the optic blast. He didn't actually hurt Piotr, just ran away from him a lot.
The poppy thing, on the other hand, was very contrived. Apparently in some foreign translations it was described as opium.

Beta Ray Bill is the collective hopes and achievements of an entire race. That makes him, on a spiritual level, a lot more than Superman.
In legend, Mjolnir was made by the Svart-Elves on a bet. They were basically trying to produce the greatest magical artefact ever, and they came pretty close. Loki made sure it was flawed, but even with that the Asgardians judged it the greatest of gifts.

Cement trucks? Pray tell.
That reminds me of a classic - and quality - battle in X-Men. Longshot, Dazzler, Rogue and Psylocke encounter the Juggernaut. None of them have met him before (except Dazzler, the previous issue), so they don't know what he's capable of. So Psylocke drives a truck into him at full speed.
Naturally, it has no effect whatsoever, and she's forced to min

Well, it should be born in mind that he only lost to Storm because of Madelyne's intervention.
Cyclops vs. the X-Men was basically hit and run, taking advantage of the fact that they didn't know who they were fighting. Wolverine has never really given him any trouble one-on-one - during the Proteus Arc he wiped the floor with him hand-to-hand, and normally he just blasts him and has

Beyond that, though, what are the most absurd fights you've seen in a comic? The ones that appear to make the least sense, not necessarily in terms of official game stats (by which, for example, Psylocke should never have been able to beat Wolverine, or even avoid getting cut in their fight), but rather in terms of what the comics have previously, and s

Uh... yeah. Describing V for Vendetta as having 'some social commentary' is like describing Nick Fury's career as 'including some military service'.
The book has comparatively little action in it. It's almost a political tract, presented as the story of a sociopathic anarchist revolutionary. It was basically written as a social commentary on the increasingly right

That said, mostly Superman usually fights dumb. It's a trait common among DC characters, many of whom are somewhat overpowered.

If you pick up a rock using magic, and throw it at Superman, does he have no protection from that rock?
Whatever your answer, apply the same to Mjolnir - it's a physical force powered by magic.
If only Thor had thought to just hurl lightning at Supes (who mostly won using his heat vision in any case).

I divide it into 'Combat Teleport' and 'Non-Combat Teleport'. Combat teleport is limited in range - I use Range Column B - but you can teleport as a combat action, Nightcrawler-style. Non-combat teleport requires concentration to use, and therefore can't be accessed in combat - letting you travel a really long way.
That way, Nightcrawler stays at Amazing rank, and Cabl

Beast has in the past lifted well over one ton, when pushing himself. Similarly, Spider-Man has lifted well over ten tons, and Captain America has lifted well over 800 lbs. As a general rule, such instances were depicted as them pushing themselves beyond their normal limits. On the other hand, instances of them lifting within their officia

Unless you assume that 'under optimum conditions' means 'in the course of a typical day', rather than 'on a red FEAT'. After all, with Good Strength the chance of attaining a Red FEAT without spending Karma is only 3%. By that logic, Captain America (maximum lift normally given at 800 lbs) and the Kingpin (maximum lift 650 lbs) should both be lowered to Good Strength. After all, they don't even have the advantage of being mutants.

It's widely agreed - and evidenced by the comics - that both Cyclops and Nightcrawler have greater than Typical strength. That would be just one of the many mistakes Marvel made in the original stats, like giving Wolverine (Mr. I-Dance-While-Carrying-Sumo-Wrestlers) Good Strength, or Captain America only having Good Psyche.
It's also official canon that all mutants are naturally stro
