Resident Evil: Game/Film Stats
September 18, 2005 10:52PM
I know Blindside has previously posted stats for certain individuals of the Resident Evil video games but I was wondering if anyone had any other stats for the other characters, both from the game and film(s).

I have a general idea myself for these characters but wanted to see what and if anyone else came up with. I'm looking for stats for S.T.A.R.S members, as well as Alice (from movie), Nemesis, Hunters and other creatures. As well as zombies. It's evident that the RE ghouls are a little more than your average zombie.

Also, I'm trying to work out the T-Virus and G-Virus deal. Should person(s) become infected (based on the game/films) what should happen to them. What is the viruses intensity, and what should the mutants who come into contact with said viruses experience? I'm really looking for stats and ideas in general so any help in this department would me much appreciated.

Thanx in advance.

Well, RE zombies are fairly consistent with the zombies establoshed by the "... of the Dead" series. They lack the faculties of higher reasoning, they are slow and clumsy and weak, and destroying the brain or spinal column is the quickest easiest way to kill them.

I would imagine they would look something like ...

F - Feeble (no training or ability)
A - Feeble (physically limited)
S - Poor (press 100 lbs)
E - Unearthly (never tires)
R - Shift 0 (little to no grasp of native language)
I - Poor (slow on the uptake)
P - Poor (hampered in sense of will)

Health: 108

Movement: Zombies are physically limited and can only move at a max of a half area/turn. If inspired by hunger/food source (which occurs on a Red Psyche Feat after one first spots a living being) they can "dash" at up to 1 area/turn for as long as that target remains visible.

Lunge Attack: most zombies "prefer" to move toward a target, throw their weight at it in hopes of dragging it down, and then commence biting. This feeble form of "charge" attack uses the Grappling column with Typical intensity (based on average body weight), save that on any Red Feat the victim must roll vs. a slam or be dragged down.

Bite: Zombies bite for Poor damage on the Edged Column. Furthermore, any such bite holds the possiblity of transmitting the virus. Victims must make an Endurance Feat vs. Remarkable intensity (enough to effect virtually any normal human exposed) or contract the virus.

Weakness: zombies can be killed with any blow to the head or the spine that causes Typical or more shooting/edged damage or Good or more blunt damage. This is accomplished by accident on a Red attack Feat, or on a Yellow Feat if the intent was announced prior to the attack.

** NOTE: in order to add some variety, the Judge might take into account varying sizes of zombies -- ranging from children to super-heavy weights -- as well as the degree of decomposition/destruction, which might allow some zombies to be quite nimble and fast in comparison to their decomposed or blown up counterparts. Likewsie, given the mutagenic nature of the virus, and the complex minds of the beings infects, the threat of a zombie-lord, with great cunning and an ability to control its fellows, arising is always a possibilty.

It would seem that the onset of the T-Virus is marked by a breakdown in one's powers of higher reasoning. I can't recall how long it takes -- the journals found in the video game/s, with entries spaced several hours apart, should be of help here -- but gradually a persons RIP is eroded away, their patience begins to fail, and they begin to develope somekind of epidermal problems like itching and rashes. Finally, they "die" to become zombies.

If I recall correctly, by injecting T-virus directly into a host you get your "Hunters", though I don't recall any mention of how long that takes. I thin kthat these are the things that feed on a victims DNA and then use it to improve themselves

The T-Virus is strong enough to infect roughly 90% of the human race, but 10% would remain uneffected, meaning its intensity is probably around Remarkable as previously stated. It mutates with the aid of outside stimuli, like radiation, but doesn't with such stimuli.

The G-Virus can continue to mutate without external stimuli, and it is this that is used in the creation of the Nemisis. Only 1 in a million people have the genetic capacity to become Nemisi', the rest turn into zombies if infected.

Exactly how these virus' might react to the mutant-gene is anyone's best guess. In a home campaign I ran some time ago, it was a characters possession of a mutant gene that enabled him to fight off the virus. I would think that the folks at Umbrella would love to find out!!

Okay. So, I have apparently mistaken the Hunter for a different monster (maybe called the Lancer? It appears in the 1st movie and less detailed in the RE2 video game).

Anyway, the Hunters were the almost gorilla like monsters, with great agility and leaping abilities, and long wicked daggers for finger nails, with which they could decapitate their victims.

There are actually a wide-variety of Hunters as can be seen and which are briefly described here ...

[en.wikipedia.org])

Here is my barely schooled take on the one that appeared in the first video game ... the Alpha series.

F - Excellent (equiv. to regular, formal training or a lion)
A - Good (some training in dex/coordination; equiv. to a lion)
S - Excellent (800 lbs; equiv. to a gorilla)
E - Excellent (regular exercise, equiv. to a gorilla)
R - Feeble
I - Typical
P - Poor

Health: 70

Body Armor: thick or scaley hide provides at least some protection vs. small calibre gun fire, so I rank it at Typical.
Claws: I don't see any reason to rank the strength of these at any more than Remarkable, enabling them to shred kevlar no problem and cause Excellent damage with a normal slash.
Leap: as per their Strength score (1 area up, 20 feet across, 3 areas down).
Prefered Attack: By Leaping and slashing, the Hunter can effectively gain all benefits to hit and damage as confered by a Charge attack (things fall at 3 areas/turn on the first turn) ... save that damage is done on the Edged column.
Characteristic Shriek: when attacking and dying these things let out loud, obnoxious, and potentially unnerving shrieks.

The Nemisis program ultiamtely produced the Tyrant, representing the pinnacle of B.O.W. developement.

Like the Hunter, there are numerous types Tyrants, as are depicted and briefly described, along with the Nemisis program, through this link ...

[en.wikipedia.org]

My own take on the Tyrant that appeared in the first RE video game ...

F - Remarkable (superior talent)
A - Excellent (intensive training in dex/agi)
S - Remarkable (2000 lbs)
E - Incredible (enhanced abilities)
R - Typical (standard)
I - Good (above average)
P - Poor (hampered sense of will)

Health: 120

Body Resistence: Excellent. Capable of resisting small arms fire, but flaws generally lead to the exposure of sensitive areas, eg. heart, spine, that can be fully exploited by an smart opponent, allowing them to fully by-pass the Tyrants armour.
Claws: Remarkable material strength.

** One might be tempted to give the creature the Guns or Marksmen skills, and equip them with various conventional and not-s0-conventional weapons.

The "Hunters" you refer to, I believe are affectionately called "Lickers."

Yeah, Lickers. I can't remember too much about them from the video game; except that, apparently, they popped some cops head off in the police station.

They have some nasty claws on their paws, walk on all fours, can walk on walls and ceilings, and can rear up to attack with their claws.

Apparently the ones in the game are different than the ones in the movie. The ones in the game are (quoting from wikipedia) " ... created when people infected by the T-Virus are exposed to a second dose. These creatures are accidental and were created due to the circumstances of the outbreak. They do not mutate after tasting blood."

Infortunately, wikipedia doesn't have a full blown entry for these creatures.

The lickers from the movie are (wikipedia) "... created by injecting the T-Virus directly into living human hosts. When they taste fresh blood, they mutate."

The ones in the movie still have the wall crawling ability, and didn't the Licker in the first movie strangle the bad guy with its tongue?

I would say that the movie versions initial stats might be something like ...

F - Typical (natural ability, equiv. to an ape)
A - Excellent (schooled)
S - Good (800 lbs)
E - Good (moderate exercise; equiv to monkey or dog)
R - Feeble
I - Typical
P - Poor

Health: 46

Body Resistence: thick, callous skin growth provides Poor protection vs. physical attacks (even 9mm can get through, but its just soo much easier with the shotgun)
Claws: Incredible material strength.
Wall-Crawling: Typical/Good; claws dig into concrete, brickwork and maybe even steel allowing it climbalong both ceilings and walls at ground movement rate, ie. 2 areas/turn.
Absorbtion: by drinking the blood of its kills the Lickers can improve on its own genetic design. These stats can directly replace those of the Licker if they are better, or have no effect if they are equal or worse. Alternately, one might use the rules for "Combining" to reflect the increase. In this case, any rank equal to or within 1CS of the Lickers will boost its rank by +1 CS (eg. the Licker kills a lab tech., aborbing his Poor fighting instincts and boosting its own to Good). Thus, ranks equal to the Lickers provide a +1 CS enhancement as well (eg. the Licker kills a lab tech that enjoys regular martial art classes, absorbing his Typical fighting prowess and boosting its own to Good). And needless to say, we might as well say that any higher ranks simply replace the Lickers existing ranks (eg. the Licker kills a chained, caged, and ill lion absorbing its Excellent fighting instincts, which replace its own).

I have no idea on what rank to cap this ability at, maybe Incredible (?), though I can see no reason why the Licker could not also absorb the superpowers of those whose DNA it feeds on; provided the superpowers have a genetic base (eg. X-Men, Fantistic Four, Spidey).

Also, its tongue might be able to grapple and lash out at opponents up to a area away. If this is the case (I can't recall), I'd allow it to do so with rank level Strength.

Resources: Good (hey, he works for the government now. You know how rich they are)
Popularity: 0 (he's a agent. Nobody is meant to know his existance)

Talents:
Ballistics
Criminology (not that this helped at all in a zombie city)
Law Enforcement (combines Gun, Law, and Police Procedure)
Stealth (if you don't learn this in RE, god help you)
Martial Arts C, D
[new]
Marksman
Detective/Espionage (covers Clue Analysis, Counterfeit Recognition, Identification System)
Intimidation
Security
Climbing
Dodging
Gymnastics (hey, he wowed us by repeatedly flipping out of windows, jumping through lasers, and lots of other stuff like juggling eggs)
Martial Arts A, B
Thrown Objects
Tumbling (he jumps out of second story windows and is able to jump down ladders without injury)
Escape Artist
Survival
Weapons Specialist (knife)

Contacts:
(before RE4) Kevin Ryman, Clare Redfield, Sherry Birkins, Chris Redfield, Ark Thompson, Mike the helicoptor pilot, the US President
