How do you beat the Silver Surfer?

Brings up an interesting thought... You think any single Elder of the Universe could take him?

One did, the runner beat the surfer in his series and i'm betting the grandmaster could to.

Oh if he's depowered completely his skin isn't that useful, as we saw in Dynamo City, where he was not only beaten up but required food and water to survive. Otherwise yes he does require some considerabl powerful opponents to defeat him (although the Molecule Man defeated him with ease).

How about Champion?

Champion lost (because he was trying to kill him and was outside of his experience, as his training hasn't been towards killing), Runner defeated him handily, and only barely defeated Obliterator by using the Power Cosmic to convert his weapons into harmless light generators (unfortunately later depictions of him have painted him as way too much a harmless wimp, and totally violates the idea that he's an Elder because he dedicated his existance to killing everything he could).

Well it doesn't help that Obliterator looks like a B List Spider-Man villain.

True. The Collector might be able to beat the Surfer, now that he's revealed his true nature and that he's far more powerful than the facade of a weak and helpless old man he presented to everyone before.

So is the Contemplator the only one of em who isn't a first class git?

Most times I've read comics with the Elders in them, they've been really arrogant and almost mean spirited. The Contemplator has been friendly to Quasar and even willing to help now and then... the others just seem more self serving.

Pretty much. The one shown during the effort to kill Galactus was revealed to be a fake, as the original is too much about spiritual advancement and peace and harmony to ever go along with a plan so destructive.

Well there are quite a few Elders running around than the more commonly known ones, like one who is dedicated to healing all life forms (she shows up to help heal the injured alien unborn hosting Origin), and one dedicated to knowing and enforcing all known laws in the Universe.

He has people he pays to do that for him. :)

And theres also the explorer.

Really? Well since the universe is always changing he'd never run out of new stuff to see.

Just cut him off from his power source. There was an arc in one of the previous series where he got stuck in 'Dynamo City' - a sort of floating space city thing - because it absorbed energy from the cosmos around it to function... which left none for him.

Took him awhile to manage an escape being completely powerless (and not used to needing things like 'money' or 'lawyers')... was a good story actually. But without energy to draw on he's relatively harmless (save for the advanced alien techno-knowledge he has, of course...)

Well the black panther just beat him in the most recent fantastic four comic.

Anyone remember that the Vision was handing the Surfer his arse in a volcano! When the Avengers and Defenders were looking for the evil-eye?! It took the Surfer using his board to get away from the Vision. But the Surfer is one tough cookie! I know, redundant.

I am sure that if you look at all the major countries around the world they entered the war for their own and the mean the government of the days own ends.

Even today Austalia, USA and all the other governments of the world tow a policy when it meets their end game needs.

But all this is material that we can use in game. Best to use it to enjoy the game rather than side tracking the thread. As far as silver surfer goes.

I believe serveral lawyers and solicitors should be able to beat him into financial dogmeat !!!!
