Blackout, Darkstar, Shroud, Cloak

Hey!

Does anyone know if Blackout has ever come back since that Masters of Evil arc in which he surrounded the Avengers mansion in darkforce?

Also, the last I heard of Darkstar, ie. X-Men vs. Avengers mini-series, she was working with the Soviet governemtn as part of the Super Soldiers. Can anyone bring up to date of her?

And what of the Shroud and Cloak? Are they still at it on the streets? Or otherwise?

Nothing really heard from Blackout I since then, Powersurge. He fell from the roof while fighting Capt. America.

Darkstar was killed in the X-men, when she was working for X-Corps/Paris branch. This was during the Weapon XII battle, wherein she had been possessed by Weapon XII (of the Weapon X programme) and the X-men first met
Fantomax.

Shroud has apparently moved from the Left Coast, back to New York to run his family's business and live a private life away from costumed adventuring.

Cloak has been framed for attacking Dagger, by someone posing as himself. He is in the Runaways seriees right now, attempting to find the culprit with their help--all while evading the Avengers!

I don't know how far back you want, PS, but in case you didn't know, I'd also heard that Cloak was now "human" again. That he has a corporeal body. And slightly different powers than in days of yore.

Has anyone expanded more on the darkfoce? What are it's origins and what resides in the dimension? It seems like an interesting concept.

Yeah, Blackout died at the end of that battle. Strangely enough, Marvel did not resurrect him like every other character in the Marvel roster.

Darkstar died too. She was killed by Fantomex and was buired in Paris, France. I thought it was a sensless killing on the writters part. Darkstar had a much more interesting past/character than a lot of the losser rip-off characters that still breath Marvel air. I wish they would stop killing off the good ones. But her character has always suffered Idontknowwhattodowithyouitis. Such a shame.

I always enjoyed characters that employed the dark force, including Darkstar and Blackout. A shame both are dead.

I don't know that the origins or workings of the dark force have ever been explained. I do know it's some sort of extradimensional energy/matter.

Quagmire was another guy who used the darkforce.

Hey! Thanks to everyone for the responses!!

Niniri! It was actually Zemo that fell from the mansion rooftop, while Blackbolt suffered a massive cerebral hemorage while resisting Zemo's mind control. They show some soldiers carrying away his body on a stretcher at the end of the arc. His face and body were covered with a blanket, and only his feet were showing. Anyway, BIG thanks for all the details you provided!!

Regarding what the Darkforce is; it has been defined as a dimension unto itself. Apprarently, Cloak's hunger for life was born out of a darkforce entity that inhabitted the diminesion Cloak tapped.

It kinda sounds like and anti-light/-life type place. In it's mystery I am somewhat reminded of a blackhole, the existence of which can only be seen when in relation to other more perceptible phenomenon.

Thus far even those who move through the diminesion either have no sense of what it contains -- other than unrefined "darkforce" energy -- or aren't saying. The sole exception being Cloak and the ravenous being he is aware of, called the Predator, it's hunger for life-force.

more information can be found in Gamers guide volume 8.

appearently D'spare interferred with the origin of Cloak and Dagger (basically they were supposed to have each others powers at the start) so he could feed off the trauma and angst that all marvel mutants have in their life. He created the predator within the dark force dimension to relay the emotions to him.

eventually like all villain plans the predator turned on him and they were both destroyed. Cloak and Dagger got new powers out of it, so cloak now has a physical body and stuff.

Thanks Sidious.
I knew SOMETHING happened, but not what. Kind of like when I spell a word wrong: I can tell something doesn't look right, I just don't know what...
As for that D'Spare, for someone I had never heard of, he's been mentioned an awful lot lately. Well, not an AWFUL lot, but more than when I hadn't heard of him. If that makes sense...

Yeah he's one of the major "minor" demons that interact with the Marvel U on a regular basis.

he was big for a time with the nexus of realities in Man Thing's swamp in florida. he also appeared often enough in the old Marvel presents anthology.

considering the new theory that many demons are in fact vastly powerful ancient Deviants, he's one of the second tier, some where Under Nightmare, Cthon, and dormmummu {sp}.

yes, he was... well... not really!

apparently, he was used by Zemo as a living prison in which the Smuggler was kept. He was still brain-dead, but Zemo used the moonstones to manipulate him like a puppet on strings...

he did the same thing with Moonstone

Well, Blackout had to have some mind left, else Techno wouldn't have been able to pacify him with porn ;)
