Every once in a while it is fun to fight a vicious, ruthless killer, but it is risky and if it is all you face then the game gets too dark and not a lot of fun. Homicide detectives are not fun people to talk to, because they see horrible stuff and think about horrible stuff all the time. The game is good because you fight a truly ruthless monster like Annilius, nearly die trying to beat him and then the next adventure is foiling the schemes of Doctor Octopus, who is dangeriuosly crazy but not in the same way. You get variety.
