The last FF for making a mockery of the greatest villain of all time: Doctor Doom. Idiocy.

Yes, technically Doom might have fewer cash assets. However, if his time machines and "Power Cosmic" stealing devices were priced, well, he'd be number one. Doom really doesn't require cash; it's not like he hits the most expensive Latverian hot spots every weekend.

The Black Panther would be high on the list as well. The vibranium trade and ruling Wakanda and all.

I misread what you asked originally. For pure cash assets, I think it's obvious that it's Lex Luthor. Hasn't this been established for decades?

Of those four, I would say Doom. He is by far the most brilliant inventor of the four (from powered armor, to time machines, to sophisticated robots, etc) and could simply build anything he needed for any task he needed accomplished.

Is New York, New York still useful when you already have the Deluxe City Campaign Set?

The first edition of the OHOTMU (the comic) debuted in January 1982 (I only have issues 2, 5, 9 and 14 of the original set however)while the original MSH game came out in 1984.
I found a section on the inside back cover of TOHOTMU Deluxe edition # 16 titled: "Strength Levels In The Known Marvel Universe"
It goes all the way from "Upper Limit of Human Level Range" to &qu

Well, I was planning on starting my own as the Judge, is why I was wondering why you wanted me to check it out...
I actually do have a plan, but I planned on creating my own message board (several good free sites)then move on to the Advanced rules with my own campaign ideas. Are you guys all new to the game? I did check it out.

I think it's ok to leave certain characters like Sasquatch as is. Even at Shift Z strength (1000 tons), the Hulk would still be greatly limited in the rpg compared to his feats in the comics.
Handbooks and RPG's are about concrete classifications. Comic stories are about, well, stories. I think they should have classifed the various characters in things like "Class A, B etc.&qu

I have no idea why they listed Thor being slightly weaker originally. Every indication in the comics shows them as equals. I think it has something to do with Mark Gruenwald's belief that the Asgardians, since they seemed to grow old and could be killed, were slightly less powerful in some ways than the Olympians who were "true immortals." Another funny thing is that, in the comic

I was thinking of using DOTO more to get a grip on the game mechanics, particularly online mechanics, than anything else.
There are several message boards, like DnD Online, that have built in die-rollers. Of course I could do all the rolling as well.
Of course I could just skip the basic stuff altogether and go Advanced. It's certainly not that difficult a system compared to the stuff

I'm planning on starting an online campaign (most likely message board format)and would like a little advice. While I'm very familiar with the game, and have a ton of useless Marvel U knowledge,I've never Judged.
I was considering starting everyone off with the Basic set and modules (starting with Day of the Octopus, of course) and then move on to the Advance Set, my own storie

True. If Judges/Players wanted they could say that Thor can lift 105 tons and Herc could only lift 104 tons, normally, to satisfy their need for pinpoint minutia. ;)

Personally, I see no need to boost the She-Hulk, Thing etc. to being able to lift more than 80 tons or so as the game indicates. Being able to lift 100 tons with maximum effort seems about right to me regarding the Thing. I think only godlike heroes such as the Hulk, Thor, Gladiator, Silver Surfer etc. need a bit of rules expansion to better quantify them. However, if you only play street-level c

Well, I've been reading the OHOTMU since the Deluxe edition came out in the mid 80's, and I can tell you that there is still debate on whether or not it was a good idea to quantify "strength level" at all. That being said, I think that DC's Who's Who was too intentionally vague.
I've learned that those details came about because the EiC at the time, Jim Shoo

I think Psyche, as far as the game is considered, is more about how resistant a character is to mental and magical control than anything else. Bravery is something that's role-played as part of the character.
I would say that Nick Fury is much braver than Baron Mordo, for instance, even though Mordo is highly resistant to mental and magical attacks.

Hi, new member, by the way.
Psyche does equate to willpower, though. It's used in the benchmark examples in the Judge's Book. I specifically remember Amazing Psyche being described as "indomitable willpower."
