Thanks for sharing, Sorentia. We love it when people tell us of their kick-@$$ gaming sessions (at least I do). I, too, have always loved TSR's Marvel system for its simplicity and versatility. I use it for every campaign I play in now, Sci fi, magic, supers, slayers, everything except for the AD&D 2nd ed. thing I have, and I'm thinking of converting that to Marvel, too!

OK, thanks for the input, everyone! Let me clarify the situation a little bit. IN this campaign, some new, tougher vamps moved into town. I based them on some horrid sci-fi movie I tried to watch, and instead of the bloodsuckers just leaving two neat little holes in the victim's neck, they would rend the people limb from limb. (yeah, that's why I only made it thru about 20 minutes o

How much damage would someone have to inflict to actually rip a person's head off their shoulders? Would this involve a grappling feat? Is there a certain minimum strength involved? I ask because we're still playing in our alternate Buffyverse, and Buffyverse vampires die (turn to dust) when decapitated.

Goooood call, Ragz. But do you use the dodge effect or the evade effect for someone using agility to dodge in melee?

Just a quick bump...I read somewhere that someone liked Catgirls. Catgirls rule!

Alright, something came up in a recent game. How would you rule disarming an opponent in hand to hand combat? Would you need a fighting feat with a called shot, i.e. a yellow feat, or would you use some other kind of feat to knock a weapon out of a foe's hand?

I have no problem at all with different interpretations to the rules. "House rules" are a great way to overcome gaps in any RPG, whether its due to a rule being to vague or too complicated. Like I said, I was probably doing it wrong around my table. But as long as everyone in the game can agree on the rules we use, I see no prob. with it. And even then, no rule is completely set in

Really, I'm more interested in how the sheroes (or heroines), or even heroes, manage to get in these awesome battles, get their costumes ripped, and still manage to stay modest. What, if anything, is the special fabric these costumes are made of that will show arms, legs, tummies, etc, but never anything

I would guess that it's a rough plan for the Magaratheans to build Disney their own planet. The "ears" just need to be a little higher.

I was wondering if anyone out there had a rule for bite damage. In the back of the Judge's book, it lists some animals, but it says "Bite damage on the edged column", but I want to know just how much damage a bite does. And what about human bites? Does a vampire's bite cause more damage due to the fangs? And can anything that inflicts bite damage score a kill result? I

I started gaming back in the good old 1980's like most of you, but I had a very strange DM at the time. We tried to stick to the rules of AD&D, FASA's Dr. Who, and the Marvel system, but usually we just did a freeform thing where what the DM said goes. I could rattle on for hours about how strange and disturbing those sessions were, but then, he was a strange and disturbing guy.

Sounds cool. Are you looking for characters who are more regular joe investigators with exceptional abilities, or Costumed Crime Fighters along the lines of the Green Hornet or Cobweb?

I concur, I think it's tres tres cool that you can game with your boy. To parents of daughters out there, take notes! We need more female gamers! I wonder what I would be like today if the old man was gaming with me when I was 5 (provided the hobby existed then), instead of how to use guns. (looong story.)
And hey, if we're talking about favorite adventures, I'll contribute
