How tough is Donald Blake?

I couldn't help but remember a flashback to a particular instance where Thor during one of his angst periods had gone to the edge of the atmosphere and released his hammer long enough to revert to Donald Blake. From that point he fell back to Earth from those near-vacuum conditions as Blake until at max velocity he impacted the ground with the cane ahead of him so that he transformed to Thor as he was smashing into the ground. Considering those kinds of conditions should have been lethal it'd seem that Blake's not as normal a human as presented.

Given the rebirth of Thor is there a chance that Blake's going to demonstrate enhanced capabilities as well?

Well you have to remember that there is no Donald Blake.

Odin chose a human to serve as a basis for Blake. he the turned Thor into Blake based off that, adding in a lame leg to teach him some humility.

Everything about Blake was fake. Odin made it all up.

So it is possible that being the case, Blake always had Thor's abilities he just never realized it.

Uh no there was certainly a Donald Blake, even if Odin attempted to wipe out all evidence of his existence he failed as the brief period after the destruction of all things Asgardian restored Blake to life. He's as much a part of Thor and a living soul if not moreso than Hulk and Banner are to each other. A case of building too well really.

hmm I seem to recall it differently.

It's similar to when Odin split off Thor's humanity and it existed with all the memories but not really any of the powers. It was effectively Blake with just a different look. While they exist in harmony while joined the events of the final Ragnarok have them existing as united beings living within the same mind, much like Banner and Hulk share the same body only Blake and Thor manage to better share their memories simply with a different slant on how they perceive them. Given though the Government's efforts to force him and his kin into servitude however the question becomes how tough is Blake since if he's totally mortal a simple sniper shot would eliminate him as a problem (although would just set off a war with his godly brethren who're also no longer holding back which would likely be a disaster in the end).
