Zamorans are love? No way!

So whose rediculous idea was it to suggest or outright state that the zamorans (the female amazons who are/were the immortal female half of the guardians) have the 'power of love' like the guardians have courage? They're militant man-hating lesbians like the Wonder Woman's people are if not worse, and have never been depicted as having any kind of warm fuzzy or loving feelings. Power of intolerance maybe but not love. Seems to be an archaic throwback to 'oh women are soft and loving creatures so they must have love-powered rings now and select women filled with love', even though their long-standing champion's been more of an insane stalker than a creature of love.

They aren't fluffy by any sense. They embody love in all of it's truest expression without being tempered by other aspects of the psyche like conscience, restraint, or critical thinking. Just like the Star Saphires [the rock, not the villainess. Well sort of the villainess] they feel order can be achieved through static union of pairs. And that union should be made with the most suitable consort. The Saphire then chooses a host that would be most desirable to the 'mating' candidate. Things like choice are not a factor to the Zamorons.

In Green Lantern it was made very clear that the Zamorons don't want to give the universe a big hug, they, like the Sinestro Corps, and the GL's want universal order. The difference lies in the methods as well as the cosmic outlook of the patrons.

Yes it's a DC thing.

Still seems cheezy, trite, a poor fit, and a thread-worn idea in general. Plus the idea that they've waited until now to build a competing corps makes no sense whatsover when they've been around as long as the guardians. As much as I hate the idea of Sinestro Corps at least they have some justification for why a fear corps has only just now been founded, it's main patron Parallax was locked up in the Green Power Battery and couldn't arrange things for its own corps until it got the chance to act through Jordan. The Anti-Monitor acting as the power source and guardian for the Fear Corps doesn't make much sense though, considering it lives for chaos and destruction. They also seem to have left room or dropped heavy hints of four other types of rings and corps to show up in the future.
