Name: Unknown/unpronounceable by humans (presumably communicates telepathically with its own race as well as its host).

Power Category-Alien Race: Symbiotes

Sex: N/A (Symbiotes reproduce asexually and lack different sexes, as such they are all virtual clones of each other, with only slow genetic drift differentiating one from another, with only a rare individual benefiting from mutation)

Age: Unknown

Fighting: Typical (6)

Agility: Typical (6)

Strength: Typical (6)

Endurance: Typical (6)

Reason: Unknown, although appear to be reasonably intelligent, so likely a Typical or Good Reason, although it is possible they can benefit from a higher Reason possessed by a host.

Intuition: Again symbiotes appear reasonably aware of their surroundings, so Typical seems logical

Psyche: Symbiotes seem to have little trouble dominating the average host, so Excellent seems reasonable.

Health: 24

Resources: N/A (If possessing a host the symbiote has access to the host's resources)

Popularity: 0 (-20 to those who know what it is)

POWERS

Power Duplication: While it is unknown if all symbiotes possess this power, given the lack of genetic diversity it's likely they all do. As such they may copy the powers, abilities, and talents of a host with Unearthly ability for bestowal upon later hosts. This is a slow process requiring the symbiote 'test-drive' the host while it sleeps in order to map its powers and abilities, allowing it to gain one point per day in all powers and FASE (perhaps RIP as well if augmented by powers) until completely copying the host's full potential. From this point on it may pass these powers onto later hosts and onto its offspring as well, although these will not be precise copies as a result of genetic variations (Example: Carnage grants far greater physical power to its host than the Venom symbiote does, as well as has the power to craft weapons from its substance that the Venom symbiote cannot). It is unclear if any of the Earth Symbiotes are capable or acquiring new power templates or if they have become locked into the template copied from Spider-man before his death and rebirth.

Power Transferal: Unearthly ability to endow its host with the powers and abilities copied from its previous hosts, augmenting the new host by the past capabilities of the others. The Venom symbiote and its offspring therefore grant powers and abilities copied from Spider-man currently. Standard FASE ranks become as follows: Fighting-Remarkable, Agility-Incredible, Strength-Amazing, Endurance-Incredible, Health-160. While it hasn't been shown as of yet if a symbiote obtains a more powerful host than a normal human, it will likely give ranks up to those presented, or +1CS if the existing rank is equal or greater than the rank granted. All earth symbiotes are aware of how Spider-man's danger sense works and are capable of masking themselves from detection by it, and as the symbiote is effectively aware of everything around it it is nearly impossible to blindside its host unless one is hidden by extraordinary means. This also means attempts to attach a tracker directly to the symbiote will also fail, as it will detect and either destroy or dispose of it at the earliest opportunity.

Augmentation: During the original period it was 'worn' by Spider-man he enjoyed heightened strength and endurance, functioning at the Amazing levels in both, although it's unknown how the assimilation of Spider-man's powers have affected this ability, or if it could again enhance his capabilities if it were ever to rebond with him.

Mind Bond: Symbiotes form an Amazing rank mental bond with their host, allowing it to communicate on a telepathic level as well as to influence or outright control a weak-willed or unconscious host. While joined with Spider-man it chose to behave like little more than an advanced mutable power suit until its true nature was revealed by Mr. Fantastic, whereas with Eddie Brock however it shared thoughts and memories with its host.

Shapeshifting: Symbiotes have limited shapeshifting with Remarkable ability, allowing them to extend tendrils up to 1 area, form claws and teeth capable of doing up to Remarkable damage, or more mundane uses allow it to disguise its host in any clothing it wishes and give it limited access to the power of Human Changeling, provided the person being mimicked is of the same size or larger than the host. Those copying Spider-man's powers have proven capable of mimicking web-casting of Amazing material strength webbing, as well as creating web-lines for enhanced movement (simply reabsorbs any web-lines to not waste substance or leave a trail). The Carnage symbiote has an expanded mutation of this allowing it to craft edged melee weapons (being driven by bloodlust it never wastes time with blunt weapons) that it may use or toss at targets.

TALENTS

Symbiotes carry a racial memory going back to the spawning of their race, as well as all the accumulated knowledge of its previous hosts. As such they may possess any talents known by any hosts that they've had. The Venom one for example, while it doesn't make use of it, carries all the scientific knowledge possessed by Peter Parker while they were joined.

PERSONALITY

The average alien symbiote is really a parasite that sees all other races as little more than transportation and food rather than sentients rating respect and consideration. They have no problems with using, killing, and moving on to a fresh host given the opportunity. The symbiote carried back to earth by Spider-man is an aberrant member of the race, as are its offspring, and as such likely to be destroyed by their brethren rather than accepted (expect perhaps for the Carnage symbiote, since it shows as much disregard for other life as the average alien symbiote does, due to its bonding with the sociopathic Cletus Cassidy).

Glad you like it, and currently probably about a dozen Symbiotes on earth, all descended from the one that became the Venom symbiote. However the Hybrid one is made up of six immature symbiotes prematurely removed from either the Venom or Carnage symbiotes (can't remember which), so the person with them is host to six symbiotes who cooperate as one, and are actually blessed with Spider-man's moral code instead of the warped and blood-lust driven natures the others seem to have.

There's absolutely no feasible explanation as to why Carnage hasn't been tried and put to death by the government after Spidey turned him in. This isn't about what Spidey should or shouldn't have done... I'm talking only about the government. From a storyline standpoint, why haven't they killed the sicko?

Well at one point because of the rediculous way the ACLU and anti-death penalty types complain about such things he was protected by the 'oh he isn't sane and we should be better than he and not kill such a lost soul' crap they like to spout. They tie things up and delay long enough for him to break out and kill a few dozen more people before being caught by someone again. If they didn't hinder the legal system so much (and we know that they do in the real world and they aren't even close to having as many of those nuts escape in reality as do in the comics) Cassidy would have been executed by now.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for making sure if someone who's executed really has murdered and should be executed for the safety of the community, but come on, he's massacred people on live TV with sometimes dozens of surviving witnesses (thanks to those heroes), there's no question executing him would put down a monster.
