    History

Bennet du Paris was a French knight during the Crusades of the 12th century, but held a sense of his latent mutant power. While in the Holy Land, he met and adventured alongside the Black Knight, Eobar Garrington, ancestor of Dane Whitman, the current Black Knight. Craving adventure and the legends of receiving power, Paris later encouraged the Black Knight to seek out an ancient tower, which in reality was a tomb where the evil mutant Apocalypse remained in suspended animation.

Paris encountered Apocalypse, who awakened the power within him and named him "Exodus" as a herald for Apocalypse's future glory. Exodus fought the Black Knight while drunk on his newfound power, but turned on Apocalypse rather than kill a friend. As punishment, Apocalypse placed Exodus in a coma-like state. The Black Knight created a tomb for Paris in Swiss Alps, where he would be guarded by generation after generation of the knights' comrades.

Recently, under circumstances to be revealed, Magneto found and rescued Exodus. Magneto hand picked him to be his "heir," since his own blood family did not want to have anything to do with his vision. Exodus was charged as the ferryman for mutants; to be taken from Earth, considered to be a hell, and then to be delivered to New Avalon, or heaven. Exodus took over leadership of the other "Acolytes of Magneto" when their savior was incapacitated by the X-men.

New Avalon was later destroyed by the mutant Holocaust, and Exodus disappeared. Exodus' full fate remains to be revealed.
